Planning begins on my play room! It will house a theater system, my computer equipment, and my guitars. Basically, a big 18'x30' room for all my stuff!

Site clearing begins!
We have...well something...
The Mack Daddy is in my yard.
We have some concrete! W00t!
Hey, now we have something that resembles something.
Ready for the floor.
Fun = shoveling 12 tons of rock screenings when it's 105 degrees. Wheee.
Now that's a floor worthy of roller skates!
3 walls are better than none!
Hey, almost there!!
Bring on the roof!!!
As you can see from the grill in most of these pictures,
our schedule is pretty much "Work a while...grill some steaks. Work while..grill some steaks.." And so on.
Projection screen testing begins!
After trying various paints (including Goo) I decided to go with a flat Grey similar
in hue to the Goo digital grey lite. The results are stunning, and of course it's about $180 cheaper than Goo.
I scrapped the metallic/eggshell mix idea after I got it on
the wall and it looked like...well...crap.
I couldn't get it to blend right on the wall, maybe because it was such a large area compared to the test wall.
You can still see my screen testing here, just remember I did not use what I tested!
Roof under construction.
We have a roof!
We now have insulation, a heating/cooling unit, and a door. Oh, and lots and lots of speaker and video wire.
Projector mounting location complete with component, s-video, and DVI cable.
The old exterior wall that is now an interior wall after siding was removed.
Ugliest wall ever.
Finally some drywall!! Now that's more like it. Ugly wall not so ugly no more.
Ceiling and projector mount done.
Holy crap, it's PURPLE!
This is the first stroke of paint.
Projector and screen location finalized. It's currently displaying on just the grey paint primer.
Carpet padding done.
Carpet & screen frame done.
THE DAY IS HERE!
After spending 2 days moving furniture and setting up the audio system, it's time to fire it up!
There are still some little details (as you can see) to finish, like trim work and some outlet covers but that's purely cosmetic stuff :)
The screen turned out perfect! 125"!
Left side wall sconces.
Right front speaker (Paradigm Active 40).
Left front & subwoofer (Paradigm Active 40 & Servo 15).
Center channel on custom Skylan stand.
If you need speaker stands, I highly recommend them.
Equipment racks in their infancy.
Right rear speaker with Skylan stands and Auralex Roominator
acoustic foam on the wall.
The lighting in this picture makes the paint look a little on the red side and the above pictures are on the blue side,
so combine those two and that's my color :)
Auralex panels by behind the right front speaker, and a good sample of the actual purple color.
Right front speaker.
More panels, more equipment in the racks, and a very sleepy cat.
Auralex panels on the back wall. Oh, and some guitars.
